Nature of the consequences

  • explosion

Here, also 'explosion' is used in a rather broad meaning, mixing together deflagration, detonation, high-pressure explosion etc. The reason is that often details are not available.

  • explosion followed by a fire

This and the followig class were created in HIAD 2.3 to consider a more complex of cosnequences, typical of esclation and/or domino effect. The useof nly explosion, when a fire was the main casue of samage, was not correct.

  • near miss

the definition of "Near Miss" is vague and not scientifically underpinned. In this new version of HIAD 2.1 we have adopted a very specific definition of near miss as "events which did not borught to hydrogen releases or to damages to persons or property".
