This class has been created in HIAD 2.3 to consider system with limited hydrogen participation or contribution. As a thumb rule, all cases where flammable substances involved in the event contain hydrogen as a minor component.

This class is used only for cases where an emergency was erroneously called, such as in case of malfunctioning hydrogen detectors
- Hydrogen system initiating event
Every release resulting from a loss of confinement by a component designed for hydrogen. For example:
• a rupture of a hydrogen-carrying piping,
• H2 release from a trailer/truck, from a FCEV, from a reactor using syngas, etc.
• A hydrogen release from a tube trailer or a LH2 tanker.
• Metal embrittlement due to hydrogen attack is a hydrogen-system-initiating event, if hydrogen is present as part of the system. - n.a.

- Non-Hydrogen system initiating event
A road crash (of FCEV or hydrogen transport vehicles).
Accidental production of hydrogen from a nuclear (radiolysis) or chemical reaction, causing explosions, fires or material degradation (embrittlement).
